Milton and Ontario are heading back to the polls.
With the provincial election officially kicked off yesterday (Jan. 29), here’s a look at the important information available so far, as well as the dates voters need to know.
- Milton is currently represented by PC Zee Hamid, who won a byelection in May 2024 (with 47.04 per cent of the votes). This followed the resignation of Conservative Parm Gill, who left to run in the next federal election.
- The NDP will be represented once again by Katherine Cirlincione, a training professional and youth advocate who ran and finished third in the 2022 Ontario election.
- No other Milton candidates have been officially announced as of now (Jan. 30).
- The Ontario election is set for Thursday, Feb. 27.
- The Milton election office is located at 410 Steeles Ave., with special ballot voting getting underway today (Jan. 30). Voting hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays and from noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. The entrance and parking is at the rear of the building.
- Applications to vote by mail can be done until Feb. 21 at elections.on.ca.
- Find a complete list of candidates at elections.on.ca after nominations close at 2 p.m. Feb. 13.
- Election officials will visit participating hospitals with voting kits from Feb. 17 to 19.
- On Feb. 20, assistive voting technology will be deployed for sure at all local election offices until polling day.
- Miltonians can vote at any advance voting location in their electoral district from Feb. 20 to 22. Visit voterinformationservice.elections.on.ca for dates, times and sites.
- Election day voting can be done from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
