To my customers….
It is hard to believe that another year has sped through. I remember when I was young & I wished I was older & my Mom said not to wish that as the older you get, the faster it seems to go. I now understand what she meant. When you have grown-up grandchildren that could make you a Great Grandmother, you realize that you are older than maybe you feel. Gord & I have been lucky & are still enjoying good health. The world has changed after covid but it is important to keep a positive outlook, enjoy your family and cherish your friends. Over the last 36 years…yes it will be 36 years on the 28th December…I have met so many wonderful people who have supported me through the years. It is not easy running a small business, especially in todays market with all the Big Box stores trying to bring customers to them. It was very interesting this year as the Canadian Federation for small business gave out these statistics. Spend a dollar in a small local business….67cents goes back to the community; spend a dollar in a Big Box store…11 cents goes back to the community; order on Amazon, etc….1 cent goes back to the community. Small businesses will give you the service and support that you want so always remember to shop local & support your small stores. I have been lucky to have a supportive staff; Kathy, my right hand lady for 26 years; Sujata for all the knowledge that she has brought to our store regarding health issues & supplements; Lesley for all her help with the baking….that has taken a load of responsibility off of me; Ingrid, who has resigned, but kept the store beautifully decorated for each occasion. To my wonderful hubby, Gord who has been with me all through this adventure & supports me & feeds me & keeps the house running smoothly. To our son Michael who is always there when Mom needs something repaired or help in any way. I am so lucky to have these 2 men in my life.
We would like to thank you for all the support you have given to us through the years….we would not be here without you. Some changes are coming in the New Year so keep posted.
