Reporting to the Supervisor of Transportation, the Traffic Analyst will provide technical support related to traffic operations and safety; installation, maintenance and operation of traffic control devices; traffic engineering/planning studies and analysis; and development of inventory/database systems.
Accountabilities include:
* Comply with corporate and departmental policies and procedures.
* Ensure a high degree of service for both internal and external customers in accordance with Town standards.
* Provide input in the development and implementation of the annual traffic engineering work plan.
* Undertake various specialized traffic studies such as turning movement counts, parking studies, spot speed studies, speed and delay studies, sight-line studies, ball bank studies, left turn queue studies, traffic control device warrants, making recommendations based on TAC and OTM standards, observations and detailed analysis.
* Undertake the annual traffic data collection program with the installation of traffic equipment which include NC-350s, and Houston Armadillos.
* Attend meetings with Town staff, external agencies and the public to answer inquiries and make recommendations, including off-hour meetings.
