Arts Milton is marking its silver anniversary, and to celebrate is inviting artists to its creative mixer in the downtown core.
Vice president Amy Leask said that “keeping anything going for 25 years is an amazing accomplishment,” emphasizing the weight of the milestone. “I think it demonstrates how these creative pursuits feed us personally, how they allow us to connect with other people, how they allow our community to grow.”
Artists and other creatives are welcome to join the festivities at The Eighth Note (243 Main St. E) on Jan. 30 to share ideas and perhaps make a friend or two.
The meeting is very much in keeping with the spirit of Arts Milton as they have been -- among many other things -- fostering connections for a quarter-century. This is done through initiatives like Milton Culture Days, which Arts Milton oversees, and The Friendship Project – which brings immigrants and host families together through art.
Arts Milton program coordinator Diksha Pal Narayan says her organization wants “2025 to be a year of collaborations.”
“We want people to come and interact with one another. Multidisciplinary visual artists can do something fun with culinary artists. The possibilities are endless,” she added.
The free public mixer will run from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 30.
Anyone interested must RSVP by Jan. 15. Information about Arts Milton and their work can be found on its website.
