The Dance Ability Movement invites dancers and volunteers to join its fall classes.

Gain valuable volunteer experience while helping others gain valuable exercise and social time.

That’s the invitation being extended by organizers of The Dance Ability Movement, with the impending start of their fall classes.

Beginning this Saturday, Sept. 21 at Dance Elite - Studio for the Arts, the sessions are for all those with disabilities looking for an inclusive dance experience.

The program has an occupational therapist who consults in the classes, assisting instructors and volunteer training to help participants meet their individual goals.

More volunteers are needed.

High school students can use the hours toward their volunteer requirement, while young adults looking to work with those with disabilities in health-care and education-related careers will gain valuable experience.

The program still has some spaces open for classes, with options for children as young as three right up to young adults.

“Not only is this class important to provide a space in the community where people with disabilities are welcomed and celebrated, but it is also necessary to ensure access for all,” said Mallory Ryan, director of quality and improvement with The Dance Ability Movement, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary in Milton. “Dance is an incredible avenue for physical and mental health and well-being. Everyone deserves the opportunity to receive quality dance education and to feel a sense of belonging in their community.”
