Milton’s generous spirit has once again shone bright.

While falling short of its $200,000 goal, the Salvation Army’s annual kettle campaign took in $166,353 this year – which will help provide continued year-round support for over 1,300 local families accessing the food bank and related assistance.

Captain Ruth Hickman, Milton Salvation Army Khi Community family services director/officer, offered heartfelt appreciation to the kettle campaign participating sites – including the Superstore, Walmart, Metro and three LCBO stores – as well as the nearly 200 volunteers who gave more than 1,000 hours of their time over the five-week fundraiser.

“We are deeply grateful for the generous support Milton has always provided, are we are honoured to be entrusted with the important task of facilitating neighbours helping neighbours in Milton,” said Hickman.

Those wishing to make a donation can do so online or in-person at 820 Nipissing Rd. Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
