Milton’s Catholic school family continues to grow.
On Thursday (Oct. 24), ground broke on the new Milton #11 Catholic Elementary School – located on Louis St. Laurent Avenue, directly beside the newly-opened St. Kateri Tekawitha Catholic Secondary School.
The ceremony included a site blessing by Rev. Lawrence Parent, Pastor at St. Benedict Parish in Milton. There was also an Honouring of the Land, president by local trustee and emcee Emma Murphy.
Joining in the celebration was Halton Catholic District School board chair Marvin Duarte, local MPP Zee Hamid and Billy Pang, parliamentary assistant to the minister of education.
Once complete, the three-story school -- tentatively set to open in the fall of 2026 -- will accommodate 763 students and include a five-room child care centre.
