The deadline to register has officially passed, and your list of candidates for the upcoming Milton provincial byelection, the most in recent memory, is now finalized.

Here’s who’s vying to be the town’s next MPP:

  • Zee Hamid (PCs)
  • Galen Naidoo Harris (Liberals)
  • Kyle Hutton (Green)
  • John Spina (New Blue)
  • Edie Strachan (NDP)
  • John Turmel (Independent)
  • Arabella Vida (Independent)
  • Tony Walton (Family Rights)
  • Frederick Weening (Ontario Party)

Election day is May 2, and here’s what you need to know about voting.

A recent poll saw Hamid and Naidoo Harris in a neck-and-neck race to fill the seat recently left vacant by the resignation of PC Parm Gill, who’s looking to running in the next federal election.

Two more all-candidates meetings are set for:

  • Tuesday, April 23 at 7 p.m. at Country Heritage Park (8560 Tremaine Rd.). Hosted by the Campbellville Community Association and Halton Region Federation of Agriculture.
  • Thursday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Milton Sports Centre (605 Santa Maria Blvd.). Hosted by the Canadian Federation of University Women Milton and District chapter at the Milton Chamber of Commerce.
