Ten local organizations partnered to celebrate the Festival of Diwali and Indian culture at Milton Mall this Saturday.
Festive India showcased the diverse ways Diwali is celebrated across India, with close to a dozen exhibits as well as kids workshops and craft stations. Non-perishable food donations were collected for Food for Life and will continue to be this week at all three Milton Public Library branches.
Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is the Hindu festival of lights and symbolizes the spiritual 'victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.' It runs Oct. 31, 6:22 a.m. to Nov. 1, 8:46 a.m.
