Who says pyjama parties have to end after childhood?
Certainly not the thousands of area women who’ve donned comfy and creative PJs over the years in support of the Milton District Hospital Foundation.
Collectively, they and local sponsors have raised $205,000 since the Black and White PJ Party’s 2015 inception, with this year’s 10th anniversary milestone expected to put that tally over the quarter-of-a-million mark.
These latest funds will go toward MDHF’s efforts to replace the hospital’s aging CT scanner.
Set for Friday, Nov. 8 at the Milton Banquet & Conference Centre, the evening will include hundreds of women enjoying camaraderie with games, food, music and prizes.
“We’re excited. It’s always a fun night,” said longtime organizer and participant Heather Gerrits, whose Team Gerrits realty firm is among the many event sponsors.
While PJs aren’t a requirement, the girls-only event does tend to see plenty of fun sleeping attire – with a number of ladies coming with hair curlers and teddy bears to complete the ensemble.
Said Gerrits, “It’s one extreme or the other. Because it’s for the hospital, everyone embraces it.”
Come to be known as the ultimate girls night out, the festivities will be emceed by Tamara Lopez and are expected to include about 240 women.
Tickets are $70 per person and can be purchased by calling Marg Saliba at 905-875-0778 or [email protected].
