Milton Town Hall.

Milton council’s upcoming meeting will cover a range of key issues. Here’s a look at some of the highlights:

Snow removal

A motion led by Coun. Adil Khalqi seeks a post-mortem review of the 2024/25 winter operations to assess what worked and what didn’t, with recommendations for the 2026 budget. Council will also explore a volunteer-based ‘Snow Buddy’ program to help seniors and residents with disabilities in clearing snow from residential properties.

Cracking down on speeding

Council will consider approving a four-year pilot program for automated speed enforcement. This includes agreement with the City of Toronto Joint Processing Centre to handle speeding tickets through the Administrative Penalty System.

The program is expected to launch in early 2026.

Mapping Milton Transit’s future

Milton Transit’s 2024 annual report will be presented, with two major initiatives up for approval : the five-year service plan and master plan update, as well as the zero-emission bus feasibility strategy and fleet transition plan.

Zoning changes

A public meeting will discuss a proposal to rezone 8329 Esquesing Line from Future Development to a site-specific General Industrial Zone. The plan includes a transportation terminal with a 1,100-square-metre warehouse, 38 vehicle parking spaces and 23 tractor-trailer spots.

The meeting is set for Monday (Mar. 17), at 7 p.m., and can be streamed online.
