Your local library experience is about to get more user-friendly.
Currently in the midst of preparations for its 170th anniversary, Milton Public Library staff are gearing up for a significant upgrade to its overall system – set to officially launch on Feb. 6.
That’s when the following new features will be available:
- Text Notifications: Stay updated with alerts for holds, due dates and more
- Bookmarks for Searches: Easily save and revisit your favourite catalogue searches
- Enhanced Reading History: Keep track of what you’ve read with a searchable and sortable reading history that tracks book cover images, authors and check-out dates
- Seamless Mobile App: Access your account and resources on the go with the library’s new App
In preparation for the new system features, some services will be on pause starting Jan. 27 and continuing until Feb. 5.
Patrons can still borrow items at the customer service desk at all three branches, while public computers, laptops, room bookings and printing services will still be available.
Access to all e-resources within the library will also continue.
In light of the service pause, items due between Jan. 22 and Feb. 5 will have their due dates extended to Feb. 10, and no late fees will be charged from Feb. 6 to 14.
Patrons are encouraged to place holds on materials before Jan. 26.
