It’s time once again for Milton to show its generous spirit.
The Salvation Army hopes local residents will do that during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season through its annual kettle campaign – which kicks off today (Nov. 21) and runs until Christmas Eve.
Six permanent locations around town have been set up, along with several pop-up sites – with volunteers accepting both cash and debit/credit donations of $5, $10 or $20 via Tip Tap machines.
With the ever-growing number of families accessing its food bank, the Salvation Army has set a campaign goal of $200,000 – a $35,000 increase over 2023.
To achieve that target, volunteers are needed to fill over 800 two-hour shifts over the coming weeks. New and returning volunteers can book shifts and training at BookAKettle.com, with student helpers looking volunteer hours gladly accepted.
“We are deeply grateful for the generous support Milton has always provided and we are looking ahead to another successful campaign that will allow us to continue facilitating neighbours helping neighbours in our community,” said Milton Salvation Army/Khi Community Director Ruth Hickman.
