Milton’s giving spirit has shone through like never before.
A whopping 25,000 pounds of non-perishable food was collected at six different locations Saturday (Dec. 7) – marking a record haul for the Milton Food Drive.
Volunteers of all ages, including many young hockey players, collected food at No Frills, Food Basics, Metro, Sobeys, Walmart and the Superstore, while dozens more helped sort the overwhelming tally at the Salvation Army/Khi Community warehouse.
“Your kindness means the world to us and will make a real difference for so many people,” said Salvation Army Community and Family Services Manager Maria Prada. “Thanks for making our community stronger.”
Support can still be shown through the annual Kettle Campaign, which runs until Dec. 24 at retail outlets across town, with both cash and debit/credit tap donations accepted.
