A Menace-ing opening weekend for Milton opponents

The Milton Menace kicked off 2024/25 play in dominant fashion, with convincing victories at home and on the road.

Luke Hampel and Gabriel Ciarallo each tallied twice to lead the local juniors to a 7-2 triumph over the Caledon Admirals Friday at Memorial Arena.

Milton outshot their guests 52-18, with Kyle Burton, Ryder Cali and Gavin Sheehan rounding out the scoring. Ethan Kowatsch was in net for the win.

In North York Sunday, Milton struck three times in the first eight minutes en route to a 7-1 shellacking of the Rangers.

Captain Graeme MacAuley and Ivan Fabjan had a goal and two assists each, while Dean Deligeorgis and Lucas Tye each contributed a goal and an assist. Also finding the back of the net were Hampel, Nathan Catalano and Ashton Pachero, with Ariel Zaslaver turning back 24 shots for the victory.

The Menace continue a three-game road trip in Niagara Falls Friday (Sept. 13). Saturday they’re in Mississauga.
