Luke Johnston has held the hot hand for the Milton Menace in recent weeks.

Luke Johnston’s late-season surge continues.

The hometown sniper tallied and added an assist to power the Menace to a 3-1 victory over the OJHL Western Conference-leading Leamington Flyers Friday – snapping their 11-game win streak.

With his team-leading 25th and 26th of the season, Johnson has now scored 12 times in his last six games and is riding a 14-game point streak.

His late empty netter sealed the deal, lifting third-place Milton to 29-11-0-3.

Owen Kindree stood for a blueline unit that held the usually high-octane Flyers to 24 shots. It was the first time in 14 games that league scoring leader Colton Smith was held pointless.

Carter Bickle was in net for the win, while contributing two-point nights were Justin Dezoete (1g, 1a) and Madden MacDougall (2a).

The Menace now head to Buffalo Sunday to face the fourth-place Jr. Sabres.
