Milton lacrosse star helping Canada dominate at world championships

Canadians steamrolls their way to quarterfinals

To say Milton’s Morgan White and Canada have been running roughshod at the World Lacrosse Box Championships this week would be putting it mildly.

The question right now isn’t so much who will beat the Canadians, but who’ll simply score on them.

Finland, Australia, Germany and Ireland have all come up short in that attempt, with Canada outscoring those opponents a combined 113-0 to sweep round-robin play.

Serving as a defender with the red and white in Utica, New York, White – a sophomore midfielder at Nashville’s Vanderbilt University – has three goals and three assists thus far on the international stage.

Coming up through the Team Ontario ranks, she’s a Milton District High School graduate who earned a spot on the All-ACC Academic Team last year with the Commodores.

Appearing to be on a collision course with the U.S. for world supremacy, Canada will take on the Netherlands tonight (Sept. 26) in the quarterfinals.

The semis are set for Friday, with the gold-medal game on Sunday afternoon.
