An early scoring burst and balanced attack were a winning recipe for the Menace Friday.
Milton scored three times in a 3:08 span midway through the opening frame and got goals from a handful of players to knock off the Niagara Falls Canucks 5-2.
It was the fifth straight victory for the Menace, who’ve lost just once in regulation time in their last 19 outings.
Luke Johnston sank his team-leading 20th of the season, while also finding the back of the net were Madden MacDougall, Marco Costante, Ivan Fabjan and Spencer Vanderberg.
Carter Bickle turned back 23 shots for the win, getting tested exactly half as much as his visiting counterpart.
It was the fifth consecutive game in which the local juniors didn’t surrender a powerplay goal.
Milton now heads into its biggest test in recent weeks, taking on the second-place Collingwood Blues Sunday at Memorial Arena. Game time is 6 p.m.
Now at 27-10–0-3, the Menace sit six points back of Collingwood in the OJHL’s Western Conference with a game in hand.
