The Menace’s mid-season uprising continues.
Overcoming a penalty-induced second-period scare last night (Dec. 8), Milton battled back to edge the host Buffalo Jr. Sabres 4-3 – pushing their win streak to four games.
Victorious in seven of their last eight contests, the 19-9-0-3 Menace now sit just two points back of Burlington for third place in the OJHL’s West Conference – with two games in hand.
Ashtyn Pacheco provided the heroics Sunday, scoring in the last five-and-a-half minutes with his sixth goal in his last seven games. It came just 22 seconds after Madden MacDougall evened things up.
Luke Johnston and Alessandro Petreccia staked Milton to a 2-0 lead in the opening frame before Buffalo turned the tide with three unanswered powerplay goals late in the second period.
Justin Dezoete stood out with three assists for the Menace, while backstopping them to victory was Austin McKillop.
Milton will look to extend their win streak tomorrow night (Dec. 10) in Oakville. They’re still without top scorer Ryder Cali, who’s out west for this week’s Jr. A World Challenge with Canada East.
