Following a three-day selection camp, Ryder Cali was among those named to Canada East squad for next week’s Jr. A World Challenge – Hockey Canada announced Thursday.
The 16-year-old forward from Penetanguishene will be the second youngest member of the 22-player team. That’s a scenario he’s grown familiar with, being Milton’s only ‘08 born player this season.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder has a team-leading 15 goals and 33 total points this year. This includes a club-record four goals in a mid-September win over Oakville.
The international tournament runs from Dec. 9 to 15 in Camrose, Alberta, with Canada East -- last year's silver medalist -- opening things up Monday against the U.S.
Now 17-9-0-3, the fourth-place Menace wrap up a home-and-home series with the Mississauga Chargers tonight at Memorial Arena. Game time, as always, is 7:30 p.m.
