LETTER: Thanks for helping bring dream of a local hospice a little closer to reality

Still time to donate to annual HerQuest for Hospice

This past Saturday (Sept. 14) you may have seen over a hundred women running around downtown Milton in bright green shirts as they participated in the fourth aAnnual HerQuest for Hospice Race, supporting the Townsend Smith Foundation

With 29 teams and 15 challenge locations spread around town, they were hard to miss!

On behalf of the HerQuest for Hospice committee, we would like to extend our gratitude to anyone who helped make the day a success – from sponsors, donors, local businesses hosting challenges, volunteers and participants.

You are the reason the day was electric. Your smiles, laughter and energy around town were all that we needed to know we did something right!

As of now, our donations are sitting just shy of $40,000. Donations will be accepted until Saturday (Sept. 21) at midnight. Please help us reach our $50,000 goal. Donations can be made by visiting our website at herquestforhospice.ca

All proceeds will go to support the Townsend Smith Foundation, a charitable organization working to build a hospice for north Halton. The foundation has secured a property for the first residential hospice at Trafalgar Road and 5 Side Road, Halton Hills.

The foundation is excited for what comes next in the process of bringing the hospice into a reality. Until then, the Townsend Smith Foundation continues to raise funds through events and generous donors, and bringing awareness to the need for a hospice in our community.
