Overnight break-ins continue to plague the local business community.

The latest of these – according to Halton police media relations officer Jeff Dillon – occurred early yesterday morning (Tuesday) at Dala Optical (88 Main St. E.).

At about 4:55 a.m., an unknown suspect smashed the front window with a hammer. Once inside, a quantity of glasses were taken – the extent of which has yet to be determined.

The suspect is described as a man of average height and medium build, wearing light-coloured pants, a hooded sweatshirt, baseball cap and carrying a backpack.

The incident follows similar business burglaries in recent weeks, with a hammer used in at least two other cases.

Anyone with information regarding this occurrence or other recent ones in town is asked to contact police at 905-825-4777 or Crime Stoppers of Halton at 1-800-222-8477 or haltoncrimestoppers.ca.
