A thief’s late-night efforts were thwarted in an older local neighbourhood Tuesday (Nov. 5).
Halton police report officers were called to a residence on George Street around 10:40 p.m. after a homeowner spotted his neighbour’s vehicle being broken into.
The man went to confront the suspect, who promptly dropped his bag and fled the area on foot. The bag was found to contain CDs, change and papers that were returned to the owners.
At least two vehicles on the street were entered that night, according to reports.
There were no injuries or weapons seen.
The suspect is described as a man 5-foot-8 with a dark complexion and thin build, wearing dark clothes.
The investigation continues.
