Halton police are investigating a series of break-ins at two neighbouring restaurants in Milton.

The first incident took place at Galito’s (81 James Snow Parkway).

Police reported that suspect(s) gained entry to the restaurant through the rear door during the overnight hours between Sept. 5 and 6. The cash register was accessed, with the theft estimated at under $5,000.

There are no suspect descriptions at this time.

The second break-in occurred just a door down at Yeh Cheez restaurant around 6:25 a.m. last Friday (Sept. 6).

Similar to the first incident, the suspect entered through the rear door, stealing money from the cash register and charity donation boxes, police say. The theft is also estimated at under $5,000.

The suspect is described as male, wearing a light-coloured ball cap, hoodie, dark-coloured pants and light-coloured shoes.

“Given date of entry, location, investigators (are) looking into connections between the two entries,” said Const. Jeff Dillon, Halton police’s media relations officer.
