A little late-night cleaning proved to be an effective deterrent for a would-be break-in at a rural Milton gas station Friday (Dec. 27).
Halton police media relations officer Jeff Dillon reports that at about 10:30 p.m., four suspects attempted to force open a locked entrance door at the closed Petro Canada at 10779 Guelph Line.
Their efforts were abruptly halted when an employee was seen cleaning inside.
The suspects – all wearing dark clothing and face coverings – fled the scene without gaining entry, leaving in what was described as a dark-coloured van.
The investigation continues.
