This past year, they began Cremation by Smith’s, a service that provides the ultimate efficiency and affordability for people looking to plan a simple cremation after the loss of a loved one.
“It was a response to consumer demand and the wish for simplified cremation arrangements. Everything is done online from the comfort of your home. If this is a family’s preference, we are here to meet their needs,” said Smith’s representative Jennifer Rayworth.
“Alternatively, for a variety of reasons, some people may not want to come into a funeral home. We can help facilitate the arrangements online for these people, and make it a more simplified and cost-effective process.”
She said a major reason their services have expanded to this online solution is that they truly wanted to be able to offer all options and price points to families, and their organization already had the infrastructure, resources and experience necessary to do so.
“What’s important to one family may not be for another. We want to help each family when dealing with the death of a loved one, and that means assisting them in selecting what’s right and meaningful for them – which is different for everyone,” she said.
“We provide all the options and offer the most professional and knowledgeable support – no matter how basic or elaborate the services are. We want to give as much choice to families as possible.”
Rayworth says an unexpected death can also bring about more financial and logistics issues, and they pride themselves on helping people through such difficult journeys.
