As summer fades and the calendar turns to September, one event promises to bring the Milton community together in a celebration of heritage, agriculture, and good old-fashioned fun—the Milton Fall Fair!

Hosted by the Halton Agricultural Society, this year’s fair marks an impressive 169 years of tradition, making it a must-visit event for everyone.

A Legacy of Community and Agriculture

Founded in 1853, the Halton Agricultural Society has been the driving force behind this annual event, and in 2024, they’re going all out. With over 70 committed members, an 18-member Board of Directors, and countless volunteers contributing thousands of hours, the fair showcases the community’s strong spirit and dedication to preserving Milton’s agricultural heritage.

From Sept. 27 - 29, the Milton Fairgrounds at 136 Robert Street will be buzzing with excitement, offering something for everyone—from the young to the young at heart.

Competitions and Classic Attractions

Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or simply a fan, the fair’s lineup of events is sure to impress. Dive into the nostalgia of Homecraft Exhibits, witness the grace of the Horse & Sheep shows, or feel the adrenaline rush during the Truck and Tractor pulls. For those who love a bit of destruction, not one but two demolition derbies are set to captivate the crowd.

What’s a fair without traditional carnival food? Indulge in all your favourites as you stroll through the midway, explore various concessions, and immerse yourself in agricultural education. The sights and sounds of farm animals will transport you to a simpler time, and the educational displays will remind you of the importance of agriculture in our everyday lives.

Youth Day: A Special Start to the Fair

The fair kicks off with Youth Day on Friday, Sept. 27 - a day dedicated to fostering a connection between the next generation and the agricultural community.

With farmland rapidly giving way to development, it’s important that children understand where their food comes from. Youth Day offers a unique opportunity for kids to learn about agriculture in a fun and engaging way, setting the tone for a weekend full of discovery and excitement.
