A Milton man is facing charges in connection with an investigation into numerous home invasions and carjackings throughout the GTA.

Peel Regional Police’s Central Robbery Bureau recently launched Project Warlock in response to the rise in robberies throughout Peel and the GTA.

The investigation – which included over 60 search warrants being executed – resulted in the arrest of 18 individuals and 150 charges laid.

A dozen vehicles with a combined value of $1.2 million were recovered, as was more than $55,000 in stolen property, while four prohibited firearms and two imitation firearms were seized.

The charges relate to eight robbery incidents in Brampton that occurred between November 2023 and January 2024.

Of these, three were home invasions, two of which involved firearms. During one incident a victim sustained a serious gunshot wound to the lower body that required medical attention.

There were two robberies involving firearms and three knife-point robberies.

Additionally, there was a series of carjackings over a March 2024 weekend in Peel and York regions involving multiple luxury vehicles.

“Violence like this terrifies and shatters the sense of safety of residents and their families,” said Peel police chief Nishan Duraiappah. “Peel Regional Police will do everything to seize illegal firearms, arrest those who are terrorizing residents and deter criminality.”

The 22-year-old Milton man is charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of robbery with a firearm and four counts of disguise with intent.

Ranging in age from 17 to 27, the other suspects charged are from Brampton, Mississauga, London and Cambridge.

The charges have not been tested in court.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police believe more charges could be laid.
