There’ll be a whole lotta local celebrating on June 22.

The first official Saturday of summer will be marked with both the Milton Strawberry Fair and Multiculturalism Day.

Now in its 42nd year, the strawberry fair will held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Milton Fair Grounds (136 Robert St.), featuring fresh strawberries, ice cream, cake, slushies and more tasty treats.

The day kicks off with a strawberries and pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. (while supplies last), while Rockin’ Rob Hewlett will emcee the opening ceremony at 9 p.m. and a barbecue lunch will be held from 11:30 a.m to 2 p.m.

Live entertainment will run all day, with a children’s play area, magic show, fire truck, new car showcase, card game and vendors marketplace all part of the festivities.

The fair is held in support of the Milton District Hospital Foundation.

Over at Milton Community Sports Park (805 Santa Maria Blvd.), HMC Connections will host Multiculturalism Day from 2 to 6 p.m.

All are welcome to come out and learn about a wide variety of cultures through entertainment, games and food.

The event will include youth challenges for prizes, a bouncy castle, ice cream truck and other food vendors.

Public transportation is available from all HMC offices and Iroquois Ridge Community Centre at 1:30 p.m.

Visitors are asked to reserve their seat at 905-842-2486 or [email protected].
