Halton police are looking into two recent break-ins at local businesses.

The first incident occurred overnight between Aug. 29 and 30 at a restaurant in the area of Thompson Road and Louis St. Laurent Avenue. The lock box storing the key was shattered, allowing access to the restaurant, where an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen, police say.

No suspect descriptions are available.

In a separate incident on Aug. 30 at around 6:30 a.m., a suspect entered a salon in the area of James Snow Parkway and Main Street through the rear door. Cash was taken, the amount of which has not yet been determined.

Police described the lone male suspect as wearing dark clothing and a mask.
