Shopper has wallet swiped at Milton grocery store

A shopper had their wallet stolen while shopping at Food Basics (500 Laurier Ave.), according to Halton police.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Wednesday (Aug. 28).

The wallet contained $100 in cash along with other items, including a bank card — which police say was used for unauthorized transactions totalling about $200.

Police are searching for two suspects in connection with the theft. 

The first suspect is described as a white man, approximately 6 feet tall, with a heavy build and a beard. He was seen wearing a light-coloured shirt and dark-coloured shorts and was carrying a dark-coloured satchel. 

The second suspect is a white man, around 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium build. He was dressed in a dark-coloured T-shirt and shorts, and he wore a black surgical mask. He was carrying a dark-coloured satchel.

The investigation is ongoing.
