Two people and small dog killed in midnight crash near Milton border

Vehicle struck retaining wall on Guelph Line; police seeking witnesses

On Sept. 5, 2024, at approximately 00:54 a.m. the Halton Regional Police Service responded to a collision involving a single motor vehicle at the intersection of Guelph Line and Lowville Park Rd in the City of Burlington.

A silver Mitsubishi sedan being operated by a 47-year-old male from Hamilton was travelling northbound on Guelph Line, north of Britannia Road. The sedan failed to negotiate the left turn in the road, slide off the roadway and struck a retaining wall. The driver was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries and pronounced deceased.  A passenger inside the vehicle, a 41-year-old female, also from Hamilton and a small dog, were both pronounced deceased on scene.

The Halton Regional Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken over the investigation.
