Halton police are seeking two suspects in connection with a distraction theft in the Milton Walmart parking lot.

According to Const. Jeff Dillon, Halton police’s media relations officer, the incident occurred around 12:25 p.m. Sunday (July 21). A female shopper had just returned to her vehicle from the Steeles Avenue store and placed her purse on the passenger seat when an unknown man knocked on the driver’s side window, warning her about a sharp object near her tire.

As the victim exited her vehicle to speak with the man, a second unknown suspect allegedly stole her wallet from the purse. The wallet contained debit and credit cards, $200 in cash and other items, police say.

The first suspect is described as a brown male, approximately 5’6” tall, with short hair, clean-shaven and wearing a red button up shirt and shorts. There is no description available for the second suspect.

The investigation is ongoing.
