Peter and Liz Lambrick were the Milton Chamber's Citizens of the Year in 2018.

A local farming couple has cultivated a deep-rooted reputation for caring for their community.

As such, they’ve reaped some special recognition over the years – the latest of which was officially announced Wednesday (Oct. 16).

Campbellville Community Association President Jennifer Sibbitt took to Facebook to share that Peter and Liz Lambrick have been selected as honorary mayors for this year’s Campbellville Country Christmas Parade.

“The Lambricks are always willing to step in and help out a fellow neighbour in need,” said Sibbitt. “Whether working together or separately, the Lambricks’ passion for their community has no doubt had a unique impact on Campbellville.”

The couple’s contribution to the community is both significant and multi-layered.

A past president of the Campbellville Community Association, Liz has been a key organizer of the Santa Claus parade and part of the committee that brought the RCMP Musical Ride to Campbellville last summer and in 2017.

She’s also given her time to the Country Heritage Park board of directors and was part of the Farm Women of Halton tours, among a number of other commitments.

Equally dedicated to his community, Peter was a director with the Ontario Federation of Agricultural, an active member of the Halton Federation of Agriculture and the region’s natural heritage advisory committee.

He was also a director on the Golden Horseshoe Food and Farming Alliance Board and a past chair of the GTA Agricultural Action Committee.

Farming 800 acres of beans, wheat and corn in Campbellville, the Lambricks were honoured by the Milton Chamber of Commerce as its 2018 Citizens of the Year.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Campbellville parade, which is set for Sunday, Dec. 15.
