Milton asked to donate hockey equipment for Indigenous communities

Hockey equipment donations are being accepted for Indigenous communities.

Miltonians are encouraged to bring a little something extra to the rink this coming weekend.

In an effort to help all enjoy the game of hockey, the Milton Menace and Milton Winterhawks are teaming up with Their Opportunity for an Indigenous Hockey Equipment Drive.

Donations can be made at the Menace’s Friday, Oct. 18 (7:30 p.m. start) game against the Oakville Blades at Memorial Arena (77 Thompson Rd.), as well as at Milton Sports Centre (605 Santa Maria Blvd.) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19.

New or gently used Items being accepted include

  • Helmets
  • Skates
  • Sticks
  • Gloves
  • Hockey pants
  • Shoulder, shin and elbow pads
  • Hockey bags

For health reasons, sweaters, socks, jocks and neck guards are not being taken.
