A Milton man has been charged in connection with last month’s fatal collision.

Investigators with Halton police’s Collision Reconstruction Unit have charged 35-year-old Andrew Couto with dangerous operation of a conveyance - causing death, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

This follows an eight-vehicle crash at Derry Road and Ontario Street South on Sept. 20 that left 55-year-old Miltonian Muhammad Saleem with life-threatening injuries.

The husband and father of three school-age children succumbed to those injuries a short time later.

There were no other serious injuries.

Couto is set to appear at Milton’s Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

A gofundme page set up for Saleem’s family has raised $123,723 to date.
